Daniel and Brian are doing a splendid job and the pausa cappuccino is a great way of bringing Lionel into the action. Lionel’s comment about just hearing Ciro’s voice and it making him smile echoes my thoughts- more Ciro if possible please !
I noticed Bruno Armirail’s gorgeous pink bike. I wondered if it would be possible for the podcast to do a little feature or a Kilometre Zero on the process by which the team got his leader’s bike and sartorial accompaniments to his Maglia Rosa so quickly sorted out. I mean it wasn’t as if Groupama FDJ had an odds on leader in waiting, for whom the sponsors would already have prepared the pink bike. Instead, topping the GC leader table came as a quick surprise and they would have had some 15 hours or so to prepare for Bruno’s first day in pink. How does a team with a surprise leader go about getting the bike re spray, the helmet, etc? I’d love to know more.
As a Canadian cycling fan I'm particularly pleased with Derek Gee's performance this Giro - thank you giving him the attention he well deserves!
I cheated (AI Doped?) and asked ChatGPT for some nickname suggestions. I particularly liked the "Canuck Silverwing" (so cheesy!). When he finally wins a stage, we could upgrade him to the " Avian Ace" 🤣🤭
I'm enjoying these giro diaries. A great way to bring Lionel's voice into a broader view of the giro and the podcast. Thanks!
