Fantastic coverage of the Tour as usual - I'm a big fan of Graham and it is nice to see Lionel back for the whole race. Keep up the great work, you make my morning commute so much more tolerable than it would otherwise be!
The pods have been brilliant and I eagerly await each new episode after the completed stages. The KM0 pods too have been excellent and you guys really are unparalleled in terms of balancing the history of the sport and the culture that surrounds it. Phenomenal stuff.
Loved hearing about Samuel Abt. I remember reading his columns in the New York Times.
I have an unrelated comment about how the racers handled Pogačar's crash that I think has been missed in all the discussion about rules and unwritten rules. That is, that the peloton is a community of people who need to work together and that depend on one another for their success and survival, and this is true even when they are in competition with each other. Pogačar is the boss of this race whether he is in yellow or not. He seems to be generally respected in the peloton. But how he was treated in this situation would not be without consequences for the riders seen as responsible. He and his team have many ways (that we cannot necessarily see) to punish and reward people for their behavior. It was sportsmanlike to wait, but it was also common sense. When people come up with examples of times the peloton did not wait, I think you need to see the whole picture of who fell or had a mechanical and to what degree they were feared, respected and liked.
